About the role:
The Wellington Area Office is fast paced and dynamic. As an Immigration Officer in our branch, you'll make quality immigration decisions through the effective use of immigration legislation, and your strong analysis, judgment and decision making capabilities.
This is a chance to play a key role for your country. In this role you will be responsible for assessing and determining visa applications from a variety of policy streams.
Skills and experience required:
• Recent experience in a customer service or service delivery environment
• Superior written communication ability, with expertise conveying concepts, policy, and information clearly and concisely to any audience.
• Recent processing knowledge and experience
• Organisational skill to manage fluctuating workloads to set timeframes without direct supervision.
• Rounded organisational and time management ability to manage workflow and caseloads.
• The motivation and willingness to make a positive difference as a proactive team member
• Computing literacy and aptitude in MS Office applications, and technology generally
• Flexible with working on multiple work streams and able to adapt to change on a short notice.
• Mental agility to learn and apply immigration policy and be a continuous learner
• A strong moral compass, and be known to ‘act with integrity' in all you undertake
• A relevant tertiary qualification is advantageous
Ideal applicants will be systematic thinkers; people who are able to identify improvements to existing processes and procedures to enhance the overall customer experience.
