About the role

As the Assistant Facilities Manager you will be responsible for organising building maintenance, security access, relocations, mailroom, courier, and managing MBIE's vehicle fleet. You will work in partnership with managers and staff at to ensure the smooth running of the building and be the sole point of contact to provide advice, and assist with facilities issues.

 

Skills and Experience required

We are keen to hear from you if you have:

  • Experience managing the facilities functions for a building
  • Good understanding and knowledge of property and procurement systems
  • Highly developed customer service skills and the ability to impart these to others
  • The ability to quickly build strong working relationships with a wide variety of people
  • A can do attitude and a level of initiative, sound judgement and discretion
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Proven ability to develop trust and credibility with managers and staff
  • Experience in, or aptitude for coaching, guiding and training others
  • A qualification in property management or comparable relevant experience in facilities management
  • Must have the legal right to live and work in New Zealand
