About the role
The Radio Spectrum Management (RSM) Policy and Planning team maintains the regulatory responsibilities of the RSM Group in accordance with the requirements of the Radiocommunications Act 1989 and Radiocommunications Regulations 2001, and based upon operational decisions, policies and practices.
We currently have a vacancy for a Technical Officer. This role has responsibility for managing satellite filing processes in accordance with the procedures set by the International Telecommunications Union and for assisting with the management of licences that use Crown-owned spectrum.
This Technical Officer is a specialist position and is expected to bring business understanding and perspective to work in partnership with their manager and other staff.

We are open to considering applications from applicants from a variety of backgrounds and levels – you may be working in another government department in a technical area, you may be a radio engineer who is on the road all the time and looking for a change of pace, or perhaps you are a recent grad looking for an interesting mix of engineering and administration. We are expecting to appoint somewhere in the range of $55 - 70k depending on skills and experience.
