An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Regional Planning Specialist to join the team within Managed Isolation and Quarantine (MIQ). MIQ has been set up as a critical part of our border measures to keep Covid-19 out of Aotearoa New Zealand.

The Regional Planning Specialist role will specialize in managing Maritime. The role will also be a support for planning and managing the arrival of returnees entering the Managed Isolation and Quarantine process in their region. Including implementation of the national allocation and transport plans, tactical relationship management, special exemptions and medical emergencies
What we are looking for;
- Ability to work a shift pattern due to the seven day operational requirements for this team (includes rostered weekend shifts)
- Significant experience and knowledge of the events, logistics, maritime and/or travel industries and exposure to the detailed planning and communication requirements of MIQ
- Sound judgement and decision making ability
- Highly organized with good time management
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with an ability to present complex issues to different audiences
- Sound understanding of New Zealand governments response to Covid-19

The purpose of managed isolation is to ensure COVID-19 is not spread to the community while enabling Kiwis and other exempted travellers to return to New Zealand safely.
