We are seeking a Senior Ministerial Services Advisor to play an integral role in the Building Resources and Markets, Ministerial Services team. The newly established team is responsible for the delivery of high quality and timely responses to Official Information Act 1982 (OIA) enquiries and official correspondence on behalf of the Ministry and its Ministers.
Building Resources and Markets is a group within the Ministry of Business Innovation and Employment. Our Group is responsible for many of the regulatory systems that govern New Zealand's markets including building, communications, competition, consumer and commercial, energy markets, financial markets intellectual property and petroleum and minerals. We are also responsible for the external facing New Zealand Government Procurement and Government Property Group.
About the role
In this role you will work across the Group and regularly interact with our business partners across MBIE, Ministers' offices and wider stakeholders. You will be responsible for providing high quality official correspondence drafting services within legislative parameters and timeframes. You will provide comprehensive advice on the Official Information Act 1982.
The successful applicant will play an integral part in ensuring quality and consistency of advice and practice in relation to both their own contribution and also that of the broader team.
Success in the role will be dependent upon a strong ability to build effective relationships and work with others to achieve necessary outcomes.
If you have:
- A minimum of three years working in the public sector or in areas involving the Official Information Act 1982
- Have the necessary drive and commitment to achieve high quality outcomes
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Demonstrated ability to form robust professional working relationships
- Thrive under pressure
- Have a great, positively infectious can-do attitude that makes you indispensable to any team

Salary range: $80,592 to $96,482 p.a.
