About the role
The Senior Exemptions Coordinator role provides input into operational decision-making within MBIE, acting as a liaison between Auckland Regional Isolation and Quarantine Command Centre (RIQCC), MIQ and the operational leads of the Managed Isolation Facilities (MIF).
The position is responsible for gathering intelligence required to streamline operational and logistical tasks to facilitate exemptions management in the MIF context and respond to exceptional requests made by MIF guests [i.e. request that may require MIF onsite nurses, relevant DHB's for hospital visits, MBIE Onsite Security managers and staff, the regional Medical Officer of Health (MOoH) for the RIQCC]. They also ensure that the operationalisation of Exemption decisions are clearly understood and delivered effectively and sensitively.
What we are looking for:
- Strong conceptual thinker and problem solver, demonstrating innovation and excellent judgement.
- Ability to work across a 7 day roster *.
- Capability to identify and address rapidly unfolding risks in fluid and complex environments.
- Strong Coordination skills.
- Experience in delivering operational tasks.
- Ability to monitor operational progress.
- Operationalise the policy set by National IQR and Regional RIQ policy.
- Ensure operational decisions are captured in the RIQ log.
- Producing robust service design/policy research and analysis.
- Managing key relationships and linkages within the Ministry and with sectors/industry
- Participating effectively in groups and teams.
*Hours of work are standard business hours over a seven day period including two weekend days each month.
Importantly in this senior position you will have the ability to monitor staff wellbeing, and mentor and provide expertise on policy advice. You will also be able to demonstrate strong operational leadership.
You will be able to use your initiative to go away and resolve or find the right resources to resolve issues and problems.
Your excellent interpersonal skills and ability to liaise and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organisation will allow you to build and maintain strong strategic relationships.
The health, safety and wellbeing of our people is important and it is a requirement of this role for you to be vaccinated for Covid-19 prior to starting, and undertake regular Covid-19 tests during your employment.
