About the role
The Supplier Relationships Advisor supports the Manager, Supplier Relationships with the day to day relationship management of MIQ suppliers in the Auckland regions. This largely involves the 17 managed isolation and quarantine facilities (hotels), as well as coach companies, security firms and airlines.
You would be responsible for the provision of specialist advice as required and working collaboratively with the MIQ communications team to development and distribute effective and innovative communication with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring that the reputation of MIQ and of our suppliers is maintained.
You will also work closely with the National Allocation Planning team as required to ensure timely communications to facilities about cohort arrivals and also manage communications when things change, as they have a habit of doing in this dynamic environment.
You will be one of two Supplier Relationship Advisors located in the Auckland region. As such you will enjoy working as a team ensuring that the portfolio of suppliers is well looked after and kept informed on any issues that my impact on their operation
You will demonstrate a sound understanding of the strategy and operations of MIQ to achieve and maintain a high level of credibility with senior leadership and in order to effectively represent the group. You will also have an understanding of the hospitality, hotel and/or airline sector and be confident forging strong working relationships with our suppliers.
What we are looking for

- Clear, concise, communicator, with particular strengths including keeping clear documentation of discussions and resolutions.

- Able to cut a clear path through complexity.
- Self-motivated and results-driven, including the ability to do what is difficult or unpopular when required, to work effectively under pressure and focus on key issues.
- Maturity, political nous, sound judgement, flexibility and a sense of teamwork in a demanding and unpredictable work environment, which can involve urgent problem resolution.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and excellence.
- High energy drive and motivation.
- A good understanding of the machinery of government.
You will be able to use your initiative to go away and resolve or find the right resources to resolve issues and problems; and have the ability to pre-empt issues before they become real issues.
Your excellent interpersonal skills and ability to liaise and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organisation will allow you to build and maintain strong strategic relationships.
This role will require an element of on call duties over weekends and public holidays. This would be shared between the two Supplier Relationship Advisors in Auckland.
