About the role:
The Senior Advisor supports the Business Director with the development and implementation of the engagement and design approach for Managed Isolation and Quarantine. The Senior Advisor is responsible for the provision of specialist advice and development of effective and innovative communication with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring that the reputation of MIQ is maintained.
The Senior Advisor will demonstrate a sound understanding of the strategy and operations of MIQ to achieve and maintain a high level of credibility with senior leadership and in order to effectively represent the group.
This position will be involved in improving systems, processes and services as well as developing new ones. Consequently your understanding or experience in managing projects will enable you to be confident in coordinating work programmes and leading some projects.

- High energy drive and motivation.
You will be able to use your initiative to go away and resolve or find the right resources to resolve issues and problems.
Your excellent interpersonal skills and ability to liaise and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organisation will allow you to build and maintain strong strategic relationships.
You will also be confident in presenting data and information and have effective writing skills to prepare reports and other documents. Experience using “Visio” or other equivalent applications would be a nice to have.

About MIQ MIQ became a Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) business group on 13 July 2020. The purpose of managed isolation is to ensure COVID-19 is not spread to the community while enabling Kiwis and other exempted travellers to return to New Zealand safely. A key enabler of this work is collaboration across government.
Over 75,000 people have passed through MIQ since New Zealand stood up its response to COVID-19. We operate thirty-two managed isolation facilities in five regions.
