On behalf of the Minister of Research, Science and Innovation, the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) is seeking expressions of interest from suitably experienced candidates to be directors of the New Zealand Institute for Plant and Food Research Limited (Plant & Food Research) Board.
Plant & Food Research is a Crown Research Institute (CRI). Its purpose is to enhance the value and productivity of New Zealand's horticultural, arable, seafood, and food and beverage industries to contribute to economic growth and the environmental and social prosperity of New Zealand.
MBIE is now seeking new directors for the Plant & Food Research Board. We welcome applications from candidates who want to be considered for these key roles and are able to demonstrate a number of the following attributes:
- Experience in the operation of large commercial entities and strong business acumen.
- Good understanding of the public sector.
- Strong science background potentially in international science, research and development, horticulture, agriculture and/or fisheries.
- Technology and digital channels for customer engagement, and stakeholder connection.
Candidates will be expected to have a genuine interest in Plant & Food Research's work, as well as the motivation and availability needed to be able to effectively carry out the role of Plant & Food Research Board director.
This is a contestable process and applications will be assessed according to the skills and experience the Plant & Food Research Board requires at this particular time.
