About the role.
We have an opportunity for a Strategic Soucing Specialist to join the Procurement team within our Finance & Performance branch.
As our Strategic Sourcing Specialist, you will bring with you your extensive commercial experience and sound business acumen. You will have the ability to build strong relationships and create commercial strategies for complex end to end procurements. In this role you ill be responsible for a wide range of procurement projects across a variety of portfolios from Social Services, ICT to Property Projects. You will also have a key role in coaching and mentoring procurement staff on delivering strategic commercial/procurement solutions.
Skills and experience required:
We are keen to hear from you if you have:
- Experience in leading and implementing strategic sourcing strategies
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
- Proven track record in negotiating and influencing
- Demonstrated experience in coaching and mentoring staff
- ICT -specific experience
- At least 8+ years practical experience in complex end to end procurement
- Strong knowledge of government processes
About the team:
The procurement team is part of the Finance Systems and Control branch which sits within the Finance and Performance group. The branch is responsible for the full range of functions, including ensuring MBIE's internal controls are strong and fit-for-purpose, by developing and implementing effective financial policies, procedures, systems and operational finance services that support MBIE's deliverables. Procurement is responsible for providing advice to the business on procurement guidelines, preparing procurement plans and associated documentation, tendering and ensuring compliance with the New Zealand Government Procurement and Property Group (NZGPP) requirements.
