Based at the Mangere Refugee Resettlement Centre, Auckland, Immigration New Zealand's Refugee Quota Programme team is responsible for implementation of the annual Refugee Quota and the Refugee Family Support Category.
The objective of the Refugee Quota Programme is to provide protection for United National High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) referred refugees in line with New Zealand's national, international and humanitarian obligations and commitments.
We are looking for 3 Immigration Processing and Travel Officers to join our team.
You will be an exceptional team player, have excellent relationship management skills and be able to multi-task. You will have strong analytical skills and a demonstrated ability to exercise sound, reasoned judgement and problem solving ability. Your excellent organisational skills, with an ability to prioritise and manage high workloads in sometimes challenging situations, strong communication skills, both written and verbal and an ability to discreetly deal with confidential information will be an added advantage.
The ideal candidate must:
- Understand the purpose and definitions within the Refugee Convention and UNHCR Settlement Guidelines
- Be prepared to travel overseas for work
- Have robust computer skills with proven working knowledge of: Word, Excel, Outlook and Access.
- Have knowledge of immigration law, policy and procedures
- Have knowledge and understanding of the Privacy Act 1993
