Can you explain the change?
- Make it easy for our staff to know what they need to do
- Use your internal communications creativity to the max
- Fixed-term to 31st July 2020
If you're a wiz at making complex information simple and exciting, then we need to meet.
We're looking for some change comms gurus to work specifically with our change teams to help ‘explain the change' for staff as part of the Ways We Work programme that we're delivering over the next 12 months.
We need your to expertise and creativity to build innovative ways to connect with staff and support our managers about what's happening when. There's lots of moving parts and lots happening so you'll need to keep your head above the detail and make it easy for our people to keep up to date on the stuff that matters. You'll also be flexible and adept at using different ways to get the message across.
This is a fixed-term opportunity based in MBIE's Stout Street office, starting as soon as possible and running through to the end of July 2020.
WHAT'S THE WORK?
You'll be supporting the Ways We Work team as we enter into our next phase of work, which is focused on flexible working at MBIE.
Over the last six months, we've been piloting flexible working design in a few sites across MBIE. We've delivered in Level 5 Stout Street, the IPONZ office in Level 13 Midland Park, and completing the new Victoria Street West site in Auckland.
Right now we're focused on the next phase of flexible working environment locations for MBIE.
Working with the Programme change team, the successful person will:
- Develop and manage our various communication channels
- Ensure our staff know what's happening when and our managers know what they need to do
- Be creative - finding new ways to ensure those who are going through change are engaged throughout, and
- Ensure our messaging is consistent and meaningful.
WHO DO WE NEED?
We need someone who understands the nature of MBIE or a similar environment, who can hit the ground running, and who knows how to get the job done to a high standard.
You'll need to be able to make complex information simple, retain detail, plan and deliver to multiple deadlines, proven change communications experience in a complex environment, plus you'll be proficient in setting up and managing internal communications channels such intranets, surveys and staff forums.
We'd also like someone with positive energy, a great attitude, a good sense of humour, and who can work effectively with a range of people and personalities. If you're curious about (or even an advocate for) flexible working, then even better!
WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?
This is interesting, people-focused work that's breaking new ground for MBIE. You'll learn a lot about the mechanics of flexible working design, as well as organisational change and engagement.
You'll get the opportunity to showcase your internal change/programme communications skills, and work with a motivated and energetic team. It'll be hands-on work plus your innovative approach and new ideas will be embraced.
