About the role:
This is an exciting opportunity for experienced & confident Senior Project Coordinators to work on significant and high profile change projects in Immigration NZ over the next two years. These new roles will be part of our established Project Office inside the Enablement group within Immigration New Zealand.
The Project Office is responsible for the management and implementation of strategic projects across INZ.
We have two roles available:
- 1 x Senior Project Coordinator - Financial management
- 1 x Senior Project Coordinator
Senior Project Coordinator - Financial management – the successful candidate will be expected to manage a wide range of coordination and all financial reporting tasks for a large new high profile project, which represents the most significant change to work VISA category for over twenty years. This role will support all aspects of financial management & reporting and will work closely with the Project Director and the Programme Coordinator in the project but will report and be supported by the Capability Lead for projects.
The Senior Project Coordinator - This role will support and deputise for the Project Manager on a significant project delivering assistance to front line staff. The successful candidate will complete usual senior project coordinator duties as well as specialist activities and tasks as directed by the Project Manager or Work Package Manager. They will lead/contribute to planning, communications, identify / log / manage project issues, risks and change requests and assists with mitigating actions as required
Project assignments are varied and span the spectrum from ad-hoc, informal or Agile to highly structured (using PRINCE2 project methodologies) and large. Our 2 x senior coordinators are expected to support the project manager or director, performing a wide range of functions, and will be expected to work on multiple initiatives simultaneously so attention to detail and the ability to prioritise and deliver outcomes to deadlines are crucial to the success of this role. It is also expected that process documentation and flow-charting may be required as well as creating diagrams and presentations.
We are looking for a collaborative, delivery focused individuals with strong stakeholder skills and who can demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- Minimum of 8 years working in a project environment
- Excellent financial management capability is important to both, and absolutely critical to one of the roles as this is the core responsibility
- An outcome focus but more importantly the passion to deliver and really care about value
- Excellent excel and MS project understanding
- Understand the difference between risk and issues
- Confident verbal presentation skills
- High standard of written English
- Relevant degree-level qualification is preferred
- Applicants for roles in Immigration New Zealand must hold Citizenship or permanent residency
