- Are you interested in a management role that will allow you to develop and grow?
- Can you lead people and strategy and build effective partnerships?
- This is a permanent Management role with MBIE's Economic Development and Transitions Branch
MBIE offers significant opportunity for developing experience across a broad variety of areas. We proactively support development through on-the-job learning and we'll help you manage a healthy work-life balance; with flexi-time, healthcare and financial benefits, along with sports teams and social activities.
The Economic Development and Transition Branch is responsible for providing policy advice on issues relating to the growth of our firms, sectors and regions. We are also interested in how the government supports sectors, regions and workers through transitions, whether they be from adapting to climate change policy responses, or other effects such as automation or technological disruption.
We work hard, on interesting topics and with a range of diverse stakeholders. We like to work collaboratively, and harness the knowledge and ideas of others with different perspectives and experience. We like to celebrate success, support each other on the challenges, and importantly, we enjoy what we do.
The Manager Investment Policy is a team leadership and management position in MBIE. The Manager Investment Policy will bring their business understanding and perspective to work in partnership with other managers and team members.
The Government's plan to transform the economy to make it more productive, sustainable, and inclusive requires ensuring we have the right investment settings and markets to bring the right kind of savers and investors together and offer access in tandem with ensuring we have a variety of products/services, specific pools of capital and investment capabilities are developed. There are a range of interventions currently underway, which directly or indirectly affect the broad investment landscape. The investment team is currently driving some of the work, for example leading the policy work on the new Venture Capital Fund.
A co-ordinated strategy is required that aligns the various levers to achieve these outcomes. We see this team as providing leadership on the Government's wider investment strategy, whilst continuing to work on how we can improve the early-stage capital market.
