About the role:
We are looking for a collaborative, delivery focused project manager with excellent stakeholder skills and who can demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- Minimum of 8 years project delivery
- A natural coach & mentor
- Relevant project, programme qualifications but more importantly the passion to deliver and really care about value
- Confident verbal presentation skills
- High standard of written English
- Relevant degree-level qualification is preferred
- An understanding of the mechanics of government
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced project professional to join the Service Design & Performance group within Immigration New Zealand.
The Projects & Portfolio Management team is responsible for the management and implementation of strategic projects across Immigration NZ. The successful candidate will be expected to manage a wide range of business led projects & small programmes of work. Although project work in the team often has an ICT element, and an understanding of ICT change practice is needed, specialist ICT knowledge is not required.
Project assignments are varied and span the spectrum from ad-hoc, informal or Agile to highly structured (using PRINCE2 project methodologies) and large. Senior Project Managers will sometimes also undertake Lead Business Analysis, Change Management and other specialist functions as needs arise.
