Immigration New Zealand - Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment
Visa Services 2020 is a customer excellence programme within Immigration New Zealand, being implemented over the next 18 months. With digital technology and bringing work onshore the number of processing offices worldwide will reduce from 24 to five in New Zealand, three in the Pacific, one in India and one in China. The outcome will be a more accurate, consistent and timely service.
As a result of this programme of work, we have recently expanded our Hamilton based office and we have an on-going need for Immigration Officers to fill a large number of newly established positions.
Our purpose is to grow the New Zealand economy so that Kiwis have a better standard of living, and our businesses perform better, both here and overseas. As an Immigration Officer, you'll be using immigration legislation, strong analysis, judgment and decision making skills to make quality immigration decisions.
You will be responsible for processing visa applications, using your skill of gathering high volumes of information to make sound visa processing decisions. Strong written and verbal communication is essential as interviewing and communicating with our clients is a key component to the role. You will also have a keen eye for detail, analytical skills and the ability to see the “bigger picture” behind the information presented. These qualities, plus a natural passion and enthusiasm for New Zealand could lead to an exciting career at Immigration NZ.
You may have gained experience in a high performance, customer service delivery environment; or in a processing environment. Ideally you'll have a tertiary level qualification but what's most important to us is your analytical thinking, eye for detail and the ability to make sound decisions based on a range of information. Above all, you need to be someone of integrity.
We offer extensive training including on-going on the job training.
Applicants must be NZ citizens or permanent residents.
