  • 2 year fixed term role

We want to grow New Zealand for all New Zealanders – for our communities, our families and our children – to make New Zealand a place where we can all prosper.  These aspirations are echoed in our Māori identity – Hīkina Whakatutuki – which broadly means ‘lifting to make successful'.

The KiwiBuild initiative is a key priority for the Government.  The programme provides the opportunity for a step-change in the housing and construction sector by increasing land and housing supply, investigating major greenfield and urban regeneration projects as well as exploring innovative ways to address market constraints.

The Government has established the KiwiBuild Unit within the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment to start delivering on the ambitious programme to build 100,000 affordable homes over the next 10 years.  The Unit has been set up as an interim unit ahead of the Housing Commission, which will ultimately take over the KiwiBuild functions when it is established.

Reporting to the Programme Director you will be responsible for providing a wide range of administrative support to this tight-knit unit. With no two days the same, you will be responsible for producing quality documents and reports, booking travel and arranging meetings across the KiwiBuild Unit. You will be a keen communicator, comfortable with all levels of an organisation, professional, flexible and keen to ‘own' this role. We encourage initiative and look for pro-active individuals that are keen to make a difference from day one!

Who are we looking for?

  • Proven experience of providing quality PA support including diary /e-mail management
  • Demonstrate sound judgement and decision-making
  • Demonstrate agility in supporting multiple teams and responding to changes in priority
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, specifically proven experience formatting documents and reports
  • Proven success organising and managing multiple streams of work
  • Strong team player, able to provide the link between other teams and individuals
  • Natural collaborator

If you are looking for a role which will allow you to be a part of a large high profile programme of work, where your contribution will be key in keeping this team humming, then we would like to talk to you.
