MBIE's ICT branch provides valued services to our business customers.  Under the leadership of a new CIO we have recently undergone an operating model and structure change in order to lift our service delivery, increase the value we get for IT spend, and ensure we are ready to navigate an ever-changing digital world.  As a result of these changes we have a number of new roles to fill.  

 

About the role

The Principal Operations Advisor is responsible for supporting the successful operation and continuous improvement of MBIE's ICT services. You will work closely with the commercial performance team and customer delivery team within the MBIE ICT branch, the vendor community, and suppliers to ensure service quality is maintained according to agreed service expectations including on a 7x 24 basis.

The Principal Operations Advisor contributes to the operations of the ICT Services, Platforms & Operations team that ensures MBIE ICT effectively manages and provides support on those activities that ICT have not outsourced. They also provide capacity to deal with the inevitable 'extras' that come up irrespective of the multi-source outsourced model in place at MBIE.

The Principal Operations Advisor, ICT Services, Platforms & Operations is responsible for ensuring quality and consistency of advice and practices in relation to their contribution to the team's work.

 

Skills and Experience

Extensive experience in a variety of ICT Operations environments. The experience will include in depth experience in, in one or a number of the following areas; IT service management; system management, integration activities and management of outsource vendor contracts. Skills in being able to coach and mentor others.

 

Qualifications

A relevant tertiary qualification in information management or equivalent knowledge, skills, and experience; and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
