About the team

As part of the Corporate, Governance and Information Group the ICT branch are responsible for the design, build and operating of effective information and communications technology services and solutions that allow MBIE teams to succeed in their goal to build a productive and competitive economy. This role sits in the Records & Library Services team in the Information & Data unit. This team is responsible for the sourcing, collating and provision of digital and non-digital information across MBIE.


About the role

As the Advisor Information you will contribute to the successful delivery of information services to MBIE. The focus of this role is to manage and maintain a suite of library subscriptions and ensure continuity of online services. You are also a strong team player who can work seamlessly with others in similar positions on a part time basis to ensure service delivery is maintained.

We are looking for someone who is available to work on Wednesdays and can then do another day on either Thursday or Friday (or a combination of both).  


Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a highly motivated and organised person to be part of the Information & Data Unit. Your skills will include:

  • Experience in the management of electronic and physical library collections
  • Knowledge and experience of  current practice in the management of information, content & library collections and subscriptions
  • Sound Microsoft Office skills especially Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to build customer centric relationships and apply a strong business approach
  • The interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively, influence stakeholders and mentor colleagues
  • Agility and flexibility in adjusting to changing work environments and expectations
  • A sound working knowledge of information related legislation e.g. Copyright Act, Privacy Act
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in information management/ /library studies or equivalent knowledge, skills, and experience would be an advantage
