This is an exciting role working within the Commercial Analysis and Investment Team to promote New Zealand's energy and resources estate. 

 You will be using your strong relationship management and organisational skills to process assigned tasks and resolve issues, while providing efficient diary /email management support for the manager.

About the role.

In this role you will be responsible for providing a high level of support to the team to enable them to carry out successful engagement with stakeholders in the domestic and international Energy and Resource Markets sectors. This will include a strong aspect of providing marketing and events support for the team and the Energy Resource Markets Branch (including our online presence), and the position will also provide PA support to the Manager of the CAI team.

The role is fixed-term until 1 June 2018, providing cover for a staff secondment to another role in MBIE. 


Skills and experience required:

  • Experience in a fast-paced marketing or events environment – in particular collateral development and event delivery support. Advantageous experience would be support of commercial business development teams at events, experience of web/email/social media-based marketing campaigns, and collateral development for technical sales.
  • Attention to detail is essential in this role.
  • Able to think strategically and manage their own time.
  • Ability to quickly assimilate new information or areas of work, with a particular technical focus.
  • Strong writing, editing and oral communications skills.
  • A "can-do" attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Confidence to speak up, voice opinions and approach colleagues.
  • Must be proactive in nature by identifying opportunities and acting on them
  • Experienced with the Microsoft Office software applications.
  • Attention to detail, ability to multi-task and work well under pressure.
  • PA/Team Administrator experience would be a bonus but is not essential.
  • Must have legal right to live and work in NZ

We're responsible for promoting investment in New Zealand's resources as well as assessing and awarding permits for exploration and production programs.  We manage New Zealand's international relationships in the energy sector and oversee some Crown entities, e.g. Electricity Authority, Energy Efficiency and the Conservation Authority.  ERM also undertake policy work around the development of renewable energy, including wind, hydro and geothermal and monitor the important role these resources play in New Zealand's energy future.
