A new strategic leadership position in MBIE, the Manager Systems Performance will support the leadership of the Enterprise Risk and Assurance branch. The position brings business understanding, strategic capability and the ability to work in partnership with managers in the branch, General Managers, and Deputy Chief Executives within the wider business.

The Manager Systems Performance will be responsible for the implementation of the Enterprise Risk and Assurance branch ‘transition programme', co-ordinating the completion of the necessary strategies and business plans across and within the branch functions. The role is also responsible for the development and implementation of new Branch performance measures to ensure that the Branch knows ‘how it is going' against its business deliverables and the transition programme.

The Manager Systems Performance will be supporting the General Manager to build the branch's operating model.  They will work with the leadership team to build the capacity, capability and culture required to be a highly regarded assurance function. You will lead a small team of business analysts and technical writer.

As Manager Systems Performance you will partner with others to better articulate the strategic direction of the Branch operations enabling others within the Branch to make that direction happen

We are looking for someone with:

  • Proven experience in senior management roles and in providing leadership, support and advice
  • A strategic thinker who is able to make the connections between broader stakeholder needs and implications for a mixed model of service delivery
  • Experienced in communicating and facilitating solutions in complex operational environments through coordinating and integrating complex work programmes within agreed timeframes
  • Experience in managing through change processes and in providing advice on organisational change
  • Ability to influence and work through others to get the best outcomes where direct reporting relationships do not exist.
  • Extensive understanding of machinery of government
  • Capacity to work with multiple complex issues in parallel
  • Ability to think conceptually and develop innovative solutions
  • Proven ability to be customer orientated and responsive
  • Tertiary qualification, preferably in a business related discipline.
  • Must consent to and satisfactorily complete a credit check as the role holds financial delegations.
