  • Be involved in setting expectations for, and monitoring the performance of the Business Integrity Services branch.
  • Support and oversee the management of financial resources at a branch level.
  • Provide a strategic overview of our people and capability needs, our fixed assets and property; and external reporting and compliance requirements.

 

The team

The Business Integrity Services branch (BIS) includes the Companies Office, Insolvency and Trustee Service, Intellectual Property Office of New Zealand and the Criminal Proceeds, Integrity and Enforcement team. The General Manager, BIS holds various statutory offices including Registrar of Companies, Official Assignee and the Commissioner of Patents, Trade Marks, Designs and Plant Variety Rights.

 

The Strategy, Governance and Assurance team has recently been established to support BIS management team, led by the General Manager, to shape the branch's strategy, and to progress the branch's policy priorities. 

 

You will support the Manager, Strategy, Governance and Assurance to: 

  • Ensure that systems and processes are in place to meet all MBIE, Vote and Government accountability, and financial management reporting requirements.
  • Ensure that systems and processes are in place to meet all BIS health and safety requirements.
  • Effectively and consistently identify and manage risk, alert management to potential problems/risks well in advance and propose solutions.
  • Lead analysis, design and delivery of business initiatives to meet BIS' strategic direction and business plan objectives.
  • Lead and manage projects.

 

What we're looking for:

  • An in depth knowledge of public sector processes (including public sector finance), regulatory systems and how government works.
  • Strong relationship/stakeholder management experience.
  • People who can self-start, who have the confidence to work in a complex and ambiguous operating environment, and who take ownership of their work to deliver results.
  • The ability to communicate persuasively, both written and oral, including presentation skills.
  • Project management skills.
  • Strong analytical skills including data analysis and reporting.
  • Risk, health and safety and security experience in an operational environment is desirable.
