The team

The Business Integrity Services branch (BIS) includes the Companies Office, Insolvency and Trustee Service, Intellectual Property Office of New Zealand and the Criminal Proceeds, Integrity and Enforcement team.  The BIS General Manager holds various statutory offices including Registrar of Companies, Official Assignee and the Commissioner of Patents, Trade Marks, Designs and Plant Variety Rights.

 

The Strategy, Governance and Assurance team has recently been established to support BIS management team, led by the General Manager, to shape the branch's strategy, and to progress the branch's policy priorities. 

 

You will support the Manager, Strategy, Governance and Assurance to provide: 

  • Robust analysis, advice, and intellectual leadership to the BIS Leadership team.
  • Solutions to problems in a complex environment, taking into account relevant considerations including legal risk.
  • Guidance to the General Manager, Business Integrity Services in relation to the exercise of statutory powers and decision making across the branch.
  • Support for the delivery of an effective BIS Business strategy.
  • Monitoring and evaluating of the branch strategy outcomes.

  • Experienced policy professionals who can demonstrate both people and thought leadership.
  • People who can self-start, who have the confidence to work in a complex and ambiguous operating environment, and who take ownership of their work to deliver results.
  • Proven track record in forming and sustaining partnerships with a wider range of officials, agencies and stakeholders.
  • People who are able to apply their critical thinking and analytical skills to challenge the status quo.
  • Experience and knowledge of business strategy including the design and application of frameworks and business planning.
  • An advanced ability to problem solve in a complex environment, taking into account relevant considerations including legal risk.
  • The ability to communicate persuasively, both written and oral, including presentation skills.
  • Experience in engaging at a senior and regular level with Ministers and Minister's offices, and key central government and business stakeholders.
