Compliance Risk and Intelligence Services (CRIS) is responsible for preventing and responding to immigration related offending and non-compliance. We develop and provide products and services that support quality decisions throughout the organisation, ensuring that risk is managed at the earliest point in the immigration process. We ensure that New Zealand’s Borders are safe and that those individuals and groups that offend against the Immigration Act are dealt with promptly and efficiently.


About the role:

We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst to join the Data Sharing and Development team within Identity Services, CRIS.  This role is responsible for providing analysis and advice on identity management, data sharing and biometrics matters.  As the Senior Business Analyst you will also lead the analysis of legislation, policy, operational practice, ICT systems, business processes and requirements to build robust best practice identity management capability and capacity in Immigration New Zealand.  


To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Previous experience in identity and biometrics management
  • Some knowledge of Immigration legislation, policy and procedures– operational experience is desirable
  • Excellent relationship management skills
  • The ability to communicate ideas and provide insightful feedback
  • Demonstrated skills in solving complex problems
  • A proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks
